Musk outlines Neuralink vision-implant ambitions

Elon Musk said Neuralink aims to implant its first vision devices within roughly six to 12 months. He described stimulating the visual cortex directly, including for people blind since birth.

He also envisioned future high-resolution vision and perception beyond the visible spectrum. Those are ambitions, not reported clinical outcomes demonstrating restored sight or enhanced senses.

Human testing and independent evaluation will be needed to establish safety, actual visual function and a reliable timeline.
