Trump announces US ‘Super Intelligence Force’
Donald Trump has announced a federal task force called the Super Intelligence Force, intended to coordinate US government policy and engagement around artificial intelligence.
US President Donald Trump has announced the formation of a body called the Super Intelligence Force (SIF) in a post on Truth Social. He described its mission as coordinating federal efforts to maintain US leadership in what his administration calls “Super Intelligence.”
According to the full text of the post, the task force is expected to coordinate federal engagement with consumers, public-interest groups, religious organizations, critical-infrastructure providers and companies working in the field. Trump also said the technology could prove more consequential than the Industrial Revolution and the internet; that is his assessment rather than an established conclusion about the technology’s future effects.
Trump named Jay Clayton, Andrew Ferguson, Emil Michael and Scott Kupor as members of the leadership team. He said the group would report to the president and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
The announcement follows an administration move to replace the term “Artificial Intelligence” with “Super Intelligence” in executive-branch correspondence and non-statutory documents. The announcement itself does not specify the new group’s legal structure, budget, timetable or independent enforcement powers, leaving its practical scope unclear.
