Meta Muse adds business software connectors for small-company workflows

Meta is connecting its Muse AI agent to Facebook, Instagram, accounting systems, storefronts, client records, and Canva to handle routine small-business work through chat.

Meta is expanding its Muse AI agent for small businesses. According to AI News, “Muse for Small Business” connects with commercial software so managers can handle parts of administration and marketing in a conversational interface rather than moving between separate dashboards.

The system reviews connected business profiles for context such as product inventories, brand voice, and recurring customer questions. Its stated aim is to generate operational copy and plans tailored to the company, although practical results will still depend on the quality of connected data and appropriate human oversight.

Social, accounting, and design connections

Muse links directly with Facebook Pages, Instagram professional metrics, and Meta advertising accounts. Its reach is not limited to Meta products: the connectors can extend to accounting books, online storefronts, and customer records. A Canva integration also lets teams bring existing visual assets and templates into a conversation.

Users can ask the agent to review annual receipts, advertising performance, and social metrics, then propose targets or plans for later quarters. During busy periods, it can also inspect calendar events and message queues to surface higher-priority work.

Custom connectors for proprietary systems

Companies with proprietary software can build custom connectors, while external software vendors are being invited to develop plugins for the platform’s application directory. This moves Muse beyond a general assistant toward an orchestration layer spanning several business tools.

The report says Muse can also perform some checks in the background rather than only responding to direct prompts. Examples include flagging unusual accounting expenses, highlighting incoming messages that need attention, and preparing draft correspondence in an “Ideas” tab. In real deployments, such access will require careful permissions, audit trails, and clear approval or cancellation controls.

Access model and development roadmap

Meta is making the core agent features available without charge, while high-volume business use will require a monthly subscription. The report does not provide complete pricing details. More connectors and task specialisations are expected over the coming months.

An example involving an Iowa grocery owner illustrates the target audience: operators who handle many roles and want to spend less time on repetitive work. Claims about time savings, however, still need to be tested in day-to-day use alongside privacy, data-security, and output-accuracy considerations.
